Brad Fields is the new Head Coach of GCC's Track & Field program

Glendale Community College Director of Athletics Dr. Peter Oliszczak has announced Brad Fields as the new Head Coach of Track & Field. Coach Fields will oversee operations and day to day Track responsibilities. Since 2010, Fields has been Head Coach and one of the founders of the Spartan Speedsters Track and Field Club here in Arizona. It is a non-profit youth track club ranging with children from 8-18 years of age. The focus on being a team, goal setting, leadership and character building all around the sport of Track and Field. As a certified Trainer and Coach Fields is also the owner of Start2Finish, LCC for the past 5 years. Providing motivational, fitness and conditioning consultations in a variety of strength and agility skill sets. 

He served as an assistant High School track coach for Shadow Ridge High School (Dysart Unified School District) from the schools opening in 2010 to 2014. While a coach at Shadow Ridge he trained sprinters, some hurdlers, relay teams, and also mid-distance athletes. In his first year, Fields took a boys 4x100m relay team to the 4A State finals. This was the schools 1st year with only a Freshman and Sophomore enrollment class. Recently, Fields also served as an assistant coach at Liberty High School  (Peoria Unified School District) from 2015 to present. In 3yrs Fields has helped contribute to 3 State Champions (2016 Christine Williford 400m & 800m and LaShira Tremble 100m and 2017 Asiah Fields 400m). In addition, 1 boys and 1 girls PUSD “Back 2 Back” titles (boys 2015 & 2016 and the girls 2016 & 2017). With several other individual state finals participants and relay runners up. 

As former Michigan State University standout, Fields was a 4 time All-American in the indoor and outdoor 200-meter dash. Qualified but did not participate in the Olympic trials in 1996. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Baccalaureate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Humanities. Coach Fields also enjoys his family. He has been married for 19yrs and has 4 beautiful children. 

The Glendale Community College Track & Field team mission and vision is "to provide an outstanding collegiate experience for our student-athletes while enabling them to pursue excellence in athletics, in the classroom, the community and their lives."

The coaches and supporters of the Track & Field team are proud to offer some many young people an opportunity to excel in sports as well as in the classroom. 

Our team has built itself into one of the premier track & field Programs in the state. Over our 47 year history we have won several Regional team championships as well as had numerous National Champions. This success over the years is due in large part to the support of our local community, the dedication of our coaching staff, and the determination of our athletes. 

This year, we will push on toward the goal of providing our student-athletes with the opportunity to showcase their talent at the highest levels of competition. You can catch us in competition around throughout the state during our Indoor and Outdoor Seasons.
