Women's Basketball Falls to Pima in NJCAA Region 1 Playoffs


Gauchos' Season Ends in Tucson

Glendale's women's basketball team gave a vailant effort but fell at #2 Pima, 99-59 in NJCAA first round playoff action. The #3-seeded Gauchos concluded their season with a 16-13 record, 12-10 in the ACCAC. GCC hung tough in the first half, trailing 28-20 after one quarter, and 47-33 at the half. But the Aztecs never let up on the visitors, pouring it on in the third quarter to open up a 79-49 lead after 3. Mallory Vivola led GCC with 20 points, while Kirsten Shinske scored 16. Yasmin Green added 10 points with 5 rebounds and DaMazjha Lee pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds. Congrats on your accomplishments, Ladies!!

Segal, DeDonatis, Vivola Earn All-ACCAC Honors

Three Gauchos were recognized for their accomplishments in the 2017-18 women's basketball season. Sophomore Ella Segal earned 2nd team All-ACCAC after averaging 12.5 points (14th in ACCAC) , 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 (9th in ACCAC) assists per game, in addition to playing stellar defense and making game-winning plays. DeDonatis and Vivola were selected to the 3rd team All-ACCAC, with DeDonatis averaging 16 points per game (bolstered by a 50-point outburst against Eastern AZ), and 3.7 assists, and Vivola topped 15 points and 5+ rebounds per game, in addition to being a clutch performer all season. Congratulations to all 3 Gauchos!!!
