PHOTOGRAPHY

The Photography Department is committed to the study of both film and digital based aspects of the medium.  Our traditional wet lab includes a large film developing area designed to give students experience in 35mm, medium, and large format disciplines.  Our group darkroom houses 18 printing stations with both Omega and Beseler enlargers. Our two advanced darkrooms include a mural enlarger, cold-light enlarger, color enlargers, and a RA-4 color processor.  Our digital lab includes MacIntosh dual-core workstations with both Mac and Windows operating systems, high resolution film and flatbed scanners, and a high resolution film recorder capable of sizes up to 4” x 5” negatives.  Our printing capability includes Epson R800, R2400, Stylus Photo 2880, and Stylus Pro 7600 printers with the ability to print up to a width of 24”.  We also provide a large photographic studio with both hot lights and professional strobe equipment, along with various camera formats available for student check-out.  Finally our print finishing area includes dry mount presses, matt-cutters, archival drying racks, and various tools to address all your post-production needs.
