You may earn up to 15 points by attending these
presentations at 5 points per
presentation. Be
sure you get the club adviser to verify your
attendance and participation.
Presentations dates this semester are:
Wed, Feb. 8, 7:00-8:15 pm, SU-104E: Catastrophic Geology in the Solar System. Speaker: Dr. Moses Milazzo, Research Geophysicist, U.S. Geological Survey, Astrogeology Research Center, Flagstaff, AZ [University of Arizona (BS Mathematics, PhD Planetary Sciences) Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter / HiRISE Team] Fri, Feb. 17, 2:00-3:00 pm, MA-142: Update on NASA Missions and other space exploration. Speaker: Dr. David Williams, sponsered by the STEM club. Thursday, April. 19, Once again, GCC will be holding a dumpster dive to raise recycling awareness on campus. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. this year (although keep checking back, they sometimes move it a bit earlier to accommodate news coverage) on the mall next to the library. Green Efforts will have sign-in sheets at the event and will provide masks and gloves for the sorters. With the recent success of our RecycleMania efforts, the event should show GCC heading in the right direction. Our goal is to have no recyclable material in the waste stream. Participation in this event will be worth 10 points. |
