The College maintains a small fleet of vehicles to support travel to academic, athletic and other student/employee professional events. In special cases, when College vehicles are unavailable, the College can arrange for use of rental vehicles. Priority of use for vehicles is in support of athletic events.
Use of vehicles is coordinated through Student Life (623) 845-3698. Forms are available in the Student Union and can also be found on page J-23 of the 2002-2003 Faculty and Staff Handbook.
All drivers must have the recommendation of their Department/activity supervisor, possess a valid Arizona Driver's License and GCC ID Card. Students are not allowed to drive a college owned vehicle .
At the recommendation of MCCCD Legal Counsel, use of 15 passenger vans (fleet and rental) at GCC has been discontinued . These vans have a higher than normal center of gravity, are tail heavy and do not satisfy the College's safety concerns for its students and employees.
When driving any College owned or rental vehicle, safety is paramount. Unsafe acts, smoking, and use of cell phones are not permitted.
