Onboarding at GCC

These steps will help you get started and be ready:

  • Get your Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID).
  • Get your Photo ID Card from HR.
  • Get a parking pass from Public Safety; remember to take your vehicle registration with you and a photo ID, and become familiar with employee parking locations.

  • Know how to get paid and when you get paid, and contact GCC's HR if something doesn't look right.
  • Log into your Maricopa Gmail Account. Email addresses are usually in the format of "firstname.lastname@gccaz.edu." Contact the GCC Help Desk if you are encountering problems with your email or other technology.
  • Develop your Course Syllabus compliant with district and department standards, and check our calendar for official holidays.
  • Look up your Official Course Descriptions and Competencies.
  • Get your class roster using the Student Information System (SIS).

  • Check where your classroom is located: Main Campus, North Campus or Communiversity.

  • Check to see if you have the necessary building access for your classes; some buildings/classrooms require you to scan your photo ID.
  • Ask your department secretary for assistance about gaining access to classroom media cabinets.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to get to your class; parking, especially during the first two weeks of the semester, between 9 & 1, can be difficult.
  • Canvas is GCC's LMS and training sessions are frequently offered.
  • Refer to the 2014-2015 Faculty and Staff Handbook for additional information about working at GCC.
