You might be surprised to learn that according to government statistics, fire fighting is NOT one of the top ten most dangerous jobs. Obviously, it has risks. But others, including loggers, police officers, and even pizza delivery drivers have far more dangerous jobs! Firefighters respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls. They put out fires and rescue people who are in danger. They are usually the first emergency personnel at the scene of a traffic accident or medical emergency.
