Nursing Program Advisement and Program Requirements
First, complete these required steps before enrolling in the RN program:
1. Become a GCC student.
2. Attend a mandatory Pre-Nursing Information session:
- GCC Main: Mondays: 11 a.m. in LS 273 and 4 p.m. in LS 101, Life Science Building*
- GCC North: Tuesdays: 3 p.m., C-130
3. Attend a Nursing Advisement session:
(Only available to students who have attended a mandatory pre-nursing information session and to current nursing students.)
- GCC Main: Thursdays: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Life Science Building, 2nd floor**.
- GCC North: Wednesdays: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., C Building**
*Excluding holidays and other campus closure dates; Arrive on time. No admittance after 15-minute start.

Health & Safety Requirements
Every student entering the MaricopaNursing program must meet all Health and Safety requirements to enter the program and to maintain enrollment in the program. Students will meet these requirements by providing a completed and signed Health and Safety Documentation Checklist with all required accompanying documentation and the Health Care Provider Signature Form to the Nursing Department as directed. A Healthcare Provider level CPR Card is needed before entering the MaricopaNursing program. Certification information can be found at the following links:

Phoenix Fire Department: CPR and First Aid Classes are conducted at the Washington Activity Center (2240 Citrus Way) on Wednesdays from 5 to 8:45 p.m.
All students entering MaricopaNursing programs are required to meet background check standards required by our clinical partners. In order for MaricopaNursing students to complete clinical experiences at local hospitals, students must meet these standards. For more information see the Maricopa background check standards.
DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Students in any healthcare program are required to have a current Level 1 DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card in order to apply to, and maintain enrollment in, any program. See Maricopa Fingerprint Clearance information website.
