Music Business (AAS) - Production Emphasis

Program Information

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Music Business program is an innovative curriculum designed to prepare students for today’s music industry. The certificate and degree with a music business emphasis are designed for both the performing musician and the business student with limited performing experience. This program combines a flexible curriculum with an emphasis in business and marketing, along with music industry related courses and experiences.

Program Notes

You must earn a grade of C or better in all courses required within this program.

You must complete 12 credits of Restricted Electives (RE) and 12 credits of Free Electives (FE) that specialize in your selected program track. You must consult with the Music Business Program Director, Music Department Chair or designee when making RE course selections. You cannot select courses used to satisfy other required areas.

Some RE and/or FE courses may have prerequisites/corequisites that are not included in the total program credits. If you are interested in taking courses with additional requisites you will need to adjust your academic plan to include these courses OR obtain permission from your instructor to waive these requirements.

If you are transferring to a state university, you should select general education requirement courses with designation values.
