Journalism & New Media Studies (CCL)
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Journalism and New Media Studies program is designed to prepare students to work in the publishing industry whether they are just starting their career path in journalism or have a bachelor`s degree in another discipline. The CCL includes courses required in journalism programs at universities throughout the state and country. An internship in journalism as well as a juried electronically submitted portfolio of published articles are also required to complete the certificate.
You must earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses required within this program.
A total of 3-4 credits of Restricted Electives are required for this program. Some restricted electives may have prerequisites and/or corequisites that are not included in the total program credits. If you are interested in taking restricted electives that had additional requisites, you will need to adjust your academic plan to incorporate these courses, or obtain permission from your instructor to waive these requirements based on prior experience and/or training.
