Insurance Studies (AAS)

Program Information

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Insurance Studies program is designed for students who are interested in gaining foundational skills in the insurance industry. Courses provide a framework of knowledge including an introduction to the insurance industry, principles of property and liability insurance, personal, and commercial insurance.

Program Notes

This degree program includes an embedded Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Insurance Studies.

You must earn a grade of C or better for all courses required within the program.

You must complete 21 (industry/job-related) credits of Restricted Electives (RE). You cannot select courses used to satisfy the Required Courses area.

Some RE courses may have prerequisites/corequisites that are not included in the total program credits. If you are interested in taking courses with additional requisites you will need to adjust your academic plan to include these courses OR obtain permission from your instructor to waive these requirements.

If you are transferring to a state university, you should select general education requirement courses with designation values.
