Accounting (CCL)

Program Information

The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Accounting is designed for students seeking to gain skills and knowledge in the field of accounting. Possible entry-level positions for this program include accounting clerk, accounts payable/receivable clerk, claims clerk, credit clerk, full-charge bookkeeper, accounting intern, or comparable positions. An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) is also available.

Program Notes

This program requires one of three 6-9 credit sequences in the principles of accounting. The best ACC course sequence for you will depend on your accounting background. See Semester Notes for additional recommendations. You should consult with Program Director for further guidance. 
(Please note that strong college-level reading skills are important for success in ACC coursework.)

You must earn a grade of "C" or better for all courses required within the program.

The courses in this certificate program may all be applied towards an Associate degree (AAS) in Accounting Paraprofessional if you wish to continue your studies.

Recommended Course Sequence

You should choose ACC211 only if you have prior accounting experience and/or training.

ACC105 is not offered at GCC, but may be available at other MCCCD colleges. GCC will accept ACC107 (Bookkeeping Theory and Practice) in place of ACC105 and ACC115 for this program.
