GCC Dance Hosts Pros in Class and Round TableStudents and members of the community found out what it really takes to be a professional dancer from some of the top experts in the field - Summer Lee Rhatigan, director of the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance; Alex Ketley, choreographer and artistic director, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance; and Dr. Suzanne Knosp, University of Arizona School of Dance and president of the International Guild of Musicians in Dance. A free round-table discussion was held 1:30 - 2 p.m., Sat., Sept. 3 in the Fitness Center Dance Studio at GCC main.
"The Round Table covered current dance trends, and the experiences of Summer, Alex and Suzanne," says Andrea Hashim, GCC Dance program director. "It was a wonderful opportunity for young dancers and their parents to ask questions of those in the profession."
Also, open to the public at no charge was a ballet technique class with Summer Lee Rhatigan Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3 in the Dance Studio.
