Gaucho Gazette Goes to Google

Parting is such sweet sorrow… especially for the Gaucho Gazette! Now that Google apps are firmly in place, Gaucho can go Google. So, pardon our dust while we do some construction behind the scenes. We are changing the way GCC news and info is delivered to your inbox. In order to change the format, Gaucho Gazette will go on hiatus until the January launch of the new format.

Starting in January 2013, a new Gazette will feature subscription options (what news you want and how often you want it), sharing, chat features and more! Whether it's breaking news, updates, events – the Gazette on Google will let you easily share the right things with the right people. Because different people have different interests, Gazette on Google will let you subscribe to relevant content YOU want.

Why the change? Bottom line: You have news to share and we want to provide your platform. We’ve seen the Gazette grow to surpass the need for a monthly newsletter – you’ve spoken and we’ve heard: More communication, more often!

When you subscribe to Gaucho+ you can choose from among various ”communities” on campus. That means you get the news you want, and nothing else. Select how often you wish to receive email messages.

Stay in touch with events and news around campus by subscribing to Gaucho+ right now!

Start in your Gmail Inbox.

1) From your Gmail Inbox, click on +(Your Name) in the upper left corner.
2) Fill out the information and select Upgrade; you can skip the next steps about adding people and circles.
3) Go to the Gaucho Plus page here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/112887389685116396631/112887389685116396631/posts.
4) Click the follow button that is orange and appears on the graphic.
5) Check the box for "following."
6) Select "Ok, I Got It" saying that you understand that you're now following the page.
7) Fill out this form to be added to communities: http://bit.ly/NewsSubscription.
8) Then post your news, events and photos to any community you subscribe to.

What else is changing? Joan Westlake, the media relations coordinator who has gathered your news for Gaucho Gazette and pitched stories for several years will soon take her skills to help one of our sister colleges. Joan joins the Institutional Advancement team at Phoenix College to support alumni and development services. Please join me in extending best wishes to Joan in her new role at Phoenix College.

Fear not! Marketing and PR will still assist you with news and media endeavors. If you have news to share, simply email marketing@gccaz.edu and we’ll be happy to help.

As we begin the conversion to a new format, look for progress, how-to’s and more information via email from your friendly Marketing & PR office.
