Art of Storytelling Featured at GCC April 13Learn about the art of first-person story telling from Yvonne Latty, director of the Reporting New York and Reporting the Nation programs at New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Free and open to the public, the Honors Forum is 7 p.m., April 13 in the Glendale Community College Student Union.Latty is the author of In Conflict: Iraq War Veterans Speak Out on Duty, Loss and the Fight to Stay Alive (Polipoint Press 2006) and the critically acclaimed We Were There: Voices of African Americans Veterans, from World War II to the War in Iraq (Harper Collins/Amistad 2004). She was featured in two History Channel's documentaries, "Honor Deferred" and the Emmy award winner, "A Distant Shore: African Americans at D-Day." A Leeway Foundation Fellow, Latty's work has appeared in USA Today, Chicago Sun Times, BET.com, The Washington Post and more. She has been featured in more than 100 media outlets including Newsweek, CNN, The New York Times, CNN International, Fox News, NPR, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Detroit Free Press.
