International Student Succeeds and Shares

Thanh To, former GCC student from Vietnam, received her Associate in Art in 2009. In 2011, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Math and one in Economics from Dickinson College. Below she shares some of her thoughts about her time here on campus.

"I am from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I went to Glendale Community College for my first two years, Going to a community college was definitely a good investment regarding the low cost and good quality. I especially liked GCC due to its Honors Program where students (if they choose to) can challenge themselves with harder course materials. There are some instructors there that I really like for their knowledge, lecturing skill and personality. I was also impressed with the number of clubs and activities in which I could take part.

"I transferred to Dickinson College in Penn. where I graduated in 2011 Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Mathematics (graduated honors) and Economics. The good thing about going to Dickinson is that the class sizes are small, which I also enjoyed at GCC. I will attend a Ph.D. program in Mathematics at Clemson University in South Carolina this fall."
