Defibrillator Program
An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is an electro-medical device is used to get a normal heart rhythm during a cardiac arrest. Twelve (12) AEDs have been placed at different locations around the GCC Main campus. Two (2) of the units are mobile units, and ten (10) are stationary. Three (3) AEDs are located at the GCC North site. One is located in College Safety and Faculty Resources (Building A), one is located in Student Services (Building C), and one is located in the Instructional Building (Building D).

Training is periodically available for those wishing to learn how to use an AED. The training is valid for 2 years. A Tucson based physician, who is also a member of the American Heart Association, is supervising this project.
