Coyotes and Gauchos round out first half of conference play
The Coyotes from Chandler-Glbert will take the trek up I-17 on Wednesday to take on the Gauchos, rounding out the first half of conference play for both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams.The Women (3-15;1-9)Are hosting the leading Division II team in the conference. The Coyotes come in with a 7-3 ACCAC mark, and 11-6 overall. The Gauchos will be looking for another dominating performance from freshman Brittany Lopez. In the 66-59 loss at Eastern Arizona, Lopez set career highs with 19 points and 20 rebounds. "Brittany has been solid all year for us, her performance at Eastern kept us in the ballgame." said Gauchos coach, Tom Sutherland.
Tip off for the women's game will be at 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
The Men's team will be looking for a huge conference win, when they play CGCC right after the women on Wednesday. Right now the Gauchos and Coyotes are tied at 2-8 in conference play in the fourth and final Division II playoff spot, this one is definitely a big one for the Men on Wednesday as well.
