Faculty Achievements
Kirt Shineman, Communication & Foreign Language faculty and Director of Forensics, had his original play,
Cloning Peter,
selected and performed in Prescott by theater group
Tomorrow's Theater Tonight.
Shineman attended the performance to participate in "talk to the playwright" afterward.
Debbie Pool, new GCC Chair of Nursing, assisted in the writing of a nursing textbook that was named by the
American Journal of Nursing
as the AJN Book of the Year in the Medical-Surgical Nursing category. The book is titled
Evidence-Based Nursing Care Guidelines: Medical-Surgical Interventions.
Jeff Pommerville, Biology faculty, along with his publisher, Jones & Bartlett, was awarded the prestigious de Villiers Golden Microscope Award by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Pommerville and Jones & Bartlett each will donate 1 percent of the royalties for Pommerville's new textbook,
Fundamentals of Microbiology: A Body Systems Approach
to the Society.
