Children's Art Exhibit

To celebrate the depth and importance of children's art, GCC presents its ninth annual Children's Art Show, comprised of artwork done by the children (ages 3 to 5) of the GCC Child Care Center.

Governor Napolitano proclaims GCC and MCC Day

GCC celebrates with a commemorative 40th anniversary photo, ceremony, cake and punch.
April 12–May 3
Vignettes of GCC History
8 a.m.–10:00 p.m., Mon.–Sat., Student Union
A nostalgic retrospective created by interior design students; displays feature replicas of the furnishings, art and technology that were in style at GCC during the last 40 years.
April 23
Celebration of the Arts
2:00–5:00 p.m., Student Lounge
Reception showcasing the Traveler magazine from 1967–2005, highlighting the creative and sometimes controversial moments in the magazine's history. Attendees will get a sneak preview of the 2005 Traveler magazine and student art show. Hosted by the GCC Alumni Association.

Student Art Show
8 a.m.–10:00 p.m., Mon.–Sat., Student Lounge
Student works will include drawings, paintings in several media, photographs, digital photographs, graphic/animation, ceramics and sculpture. The exhibit will be juried prior to opening and awards will be displayed on winning pieces.
May 13
GCC's 40th Commencement Ceremony
7:00 p.m., Central Mall
This milestone celebration recognizes outstanding student achievement.

Faculty Speaker: Phil Smelser.
Student speaker: Quincy Johnson
Join us after the ceremony for cookies and punch in the courtyard south of the Student Union.
